The Faculty of Humanities offers a practical internship course (Course No. 8301 in the faculty catalogue) designed to bridge academic studies with today’s job market. Students are placed in organizations relevant to their field of study, with the goal of creating the best possible match between their placement, interests, and skills.
Internship opportunities include government offices, journals, archives, NGOs, research centers, cultural institutions and arts organizations, among others. The course also includes weekly sessions that accompany the internship experience, addressing complementary aspects such as theoretical discussions, workshops, and one-on-one meetings. Through these sessions, students gain practical tools and skills to help them navigate the challenges of the job market upon completing their degree.
The course offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and professional references while still pursuing their degree—enhancing their CVs and positioning them more competitively in the job market. (Comparable internship programs in the humanities have shown a marked increase—by several dozen percentage points—in graduates’ employment in fields related to their studies, with some participants even being hired as full-time staff by their host organizations.)
This year-long program is open to second- and third-year students across all departments in the faculty. It grants 4 credits, counted toward elective requirements within the student’s major. Enrollment is limited, and admission is subject to a personal interview.
Each summer, the faculty’s Academic Secretariat issues an open call inviting all undergraduate students in the faculty to apply.
